 Diving
We have some of the best coastline for diving in Spain with the cleanest water and interesting dive spots in the whole of the Mediterranean. There are a number of dive schools in the resort offering all levels of tuition. If you have never tried there is no better place than here in Mojacar. One of the oldest dive schools is Indalo Divers situated behind La Gaviota restaurant on the coast road.
 Golf
Almeria has at the moment 8 golf coures and if you believe the rumors a few in the planning stage. The closest course is Marina Playa on the coast road to Garrucha. A shorte 9 hole course is also nearby at Cortijo Grande. With Valle de Este and Desert Springs just a short drive away it is an ideal place for golfers.
 PARQUE AQUATICO VERA
For those who can't get enough water the Vera water park is the place to visit. With plenty of plumes to ride, a wave machine and numerous pools. It also has a cafeteria for the hungry and thirsty.
Quad Treks
Our 1 Hour trek begins and
ends at the Tower on Macenas Beach. After a thorough safety briefing and
short demonstration on quad usage, we will begin with an easy journey
down a dry riverbed . The terrain is relatively flat which will allow
the less experienced riders to familiarize themselves with the quads.
Then we will get a little more rough and rugged, with sharp bends and a
rocky terrain, rising slowly through the picturesque valley.
 Horse
Riding Its not
hard to imagine you are in true cowboy country with the many canyons and
gorges to explore. Some days you will ride along dry riverbeds of
silvery sand or maybe along the High Ridges that are home to Foxes, wild
Boar and many other animals. Bonelli Eagles can sometimes be seen
soaring high above, or vultures circling in anticipation. On the lower
plains you can ride through groves laden with Olives, Pomegranates,
Oranges and Lemons.
Oyasis Western Theme Park
Oasys is a theme park and
zoo set in the desert landscape of Tabernas. Formerly a film set. Many
well known westerns were shot here. Watch one of the daily shoot outs.
Cheer on the Sheriff and see some very rough looking locals bite the
dust. There is a small museum housing camera equipment, projectors and
memorabilia. As it is can be quiet hot you can enjoy a cold beer and a
snack at the Saloon whilst watching a can can show. Once you have seen
enough of the wild west there are several snack bars and restaurants to
visit. Or take some time out and have a dip in the pool. The zoo is very
worth a visit with a many interesting animals to see.
 Caves
of Sorbas
These caves are the most
important of there kind in Europe and are well worth a visit. They are
located in the protected natural area of Karst in Yesos de Sorbas.
You have a choice of four routes.
Food & Drink
You are spoilt for choice
here in Mojacar. The beach bars (chiringuitos) are open all day during
the summer months offer good value for money. I would recomend trying
the "menu del dia". You will find many English run bars and restaurants
if Spanish cuisine is not your thing, but if it is you will be quiet
happy. There are several Chinese, Indian restaurants and a handful of
Italian's for pizza and pasta lovers. A short trip to Garrucha you will
find many good fish restaurants serving a fresh catch. |
